2023 Season Summary

A little below average season with good sugar content. Grades were exceptionally high for everyone. It took a while for trees to thaw out and produce, then in early April there was a big warm up that put an abrupt end to the season just as things were picking up. Total sugar production was 14 lbs from 16 taps. This was also the first year for the birch monitor and birch syrup. Again, the season ended quick with a big warm up. Sap was still running, but the color was off, so we shut things down. 16.3 gallons of sap made 15.2 ounces of birch syrup.
